hey guys just need some help with my 2.4 i overheated it couple of days ago so i have put a new water pump and complete timing belt service while i was in there ibut motor still running sluggish ccould this be due to a crack in the head even though the oil in the car isnt milky in anyway i personnaly think i have slightly warped it so ive put a bottle of chemiweld in it and that seems to have made it a little better is there anything else i could do to rectify my problem or would it be just better of replacing the head and if so how much am i looking at

Do a compressions test on the engine. That will tell you if you are loosing pressure. Is there excessive blow by in the Tappet cover air vent? This could indicate oil rings problems which would account for poor performance. Usually it over heats for a reason. You can have a head gasket blow and empty the water out and the water and oil may not mix. Also are there any bubbles in the water when you lift the radiator cap. DONT DO THAT TEST HOT.

When the 2.4 cracks the head it does not normally put water in the oil or oil in the water however it does pressurise your cooling system! take the cap off and run the motor until the thermostat opens and check for any bubbles in the coolant
