Sierra - (GMC, not Suzuki)

Finally got my GMC Sierra. Took it down to Rainbow beach late on Sunday. I was going to take it to Double Island but the tide was in and thought loosing it on the rocks first trip would not be a good look.
Went down to Inskip instead. Didn't go too bad. Has few berries but is a lot different on the sand to my RR. The longer wheel base make turns a bit harder without burrying the front.
It was just before high tide so I had to do a bit of ploughing the soft stuff and it didn't go too bad. Nearly lost the Sausage dog out of the tray when I was exiting the beach because I kept a bit of momentum through the soft stuff as it was pretty cut up.

Engine is a 5.3L V8 Vortec which is a good little unit. Front suspension is torsion bar and the rear is leaf sprung. I have not done too much 4x4 that would really test it but this weekend it should get a workout. The front bar sits a bit low so the approach angle is gay. Custom bar for the front should help if I can get some spare time. I can't really lift it because it just fits under my house at the moment and my wife is pregnant so I get constant reminders how hard it is to get in or out of. Its pretty much stock as rock at the moment but it does have a gov-loc diff standard in the back.
I got stack of forestry permits today so this weekend should be a good time to test it. Little worried that if I get it stuck it will take a good size 4x4 to pull it out. I might get some mates to follow me in the RR and Bushrangie just in case.
