For the 4age swap check out Dank's thread in members.

Basically you'll need new engine mounts, new gearbox mounts (depending on what gearbox you're using), shortened jackshaft, and about a billion other little things.

If you have a bit of a search (look for posts by a member named "Drew") you'll find enough info to keep you reading for weeks.

It's a good conversion and they're great engines (in the middle of a GZE atm and had a bigport in my old zook) but honestly, with the ease of adapting a G16xx these days I'd probably just go that route. Quicker, easier, cheaper, less farking around and has been done a brazillion times before. Sell the big port and put the money towards an mpfi IMO.

Here is everything you need and more already done for you. Swap over all this into your zook, it wouldn't get any easier than that.

is your 4age set up for rwd? if not there is some work to be done before you will be able to drop the motor in.

try to get one of the hydrolic gearboxes, most use the sprinter / celica boxes and they came in cable or hydrolic.

you also need a set of rwd extractors.

plus what dex said.

MPFI = Multi Point Fuel Injection as found on later model 1.6 Vitara motors

You'll need to swap the following things to RWD format:

Exhaust manifold (or cut and shut the FWD one which is a pain in the arse)
Gearbox (T50 five speed or the 3spd auto is the go)
Starter
Intake manifold (I guess it could be run as is but the air cleaner would be facing the firewall which might be a bit odd)
Engine mounts

If you're running a manual it's a good idea to convert to a hydraulic clutch, from memory Drew used a Hiace assembly....Again though, search his posts and you'll find heaps of info.
