getting error codes 9:42 on a turbo diesle ute, powere problem is like a studder in between 1800rpm - 2400rpm, just wondering if anyone else has had this problem, or how to fix it, i have been told that it is injector pump but i dicounected the speedo sensor of the gear box and the car had full power for about 5 min until the computer picked up on the sencor being dicounected and went back to doing the same thing. would be greet to here some ideas as this has been going on for nearly 2 years now

sounds like its going into limp mode mate. Take it to a mech so they can put their computer on and tell you exactly the problem

We had a couple different things that would cause symptoms like you described, one was EGR valve leaking and the other was injector pump timing. I think the timing was an issue from the factory though, it can't go out of adjustment during normal operation unless the lock bolts are loose.

both those codes you have are speed sensor codes

did you reset the computer (remove power for about 1 min)?
before you did the diagnostic

some times when you disconnect one sensor ie the speed sensor it with mask some other problem
so put it all back together clear the fault codes and go for a drive then recheck diagnostics

first thing i would check is your first gear detection switch as that will limit power and is speed related

cheers

take it to toyota and get them to extract the codes. they'll give you the most detailed info on what the issue is. and they can reference to there manuals the exact diagnosis procedure for that code

cheers guys yeah have had it a toyota all they want to do is put another pump on it but, but becasue it only does it only at time i dont think its the pump cause you would notice it all the time under load, ah well might be back to putting it on the diono again and go over everything again, the worst part it its not a problem that anyone that i have talked to has had before or really heard off

problems dont always bring up fault codes

if its is not related to the computer system it wont ie fuel blockage, water in fuel or some other non computer controlled issue
he already has read the fault codes and the only ones are the speed sensor one (probably cause the speed sensor was pulled off)

thats why i said about teh first gear selection switch as the computer will not detect this as a fault as it thinks its just in first gear
for people who dont know the first gear selection switch limits power and torque in first gear
thats why i would check it first if it has water or dirt in it it may be giving the computer the wrong signal for that time
ie tell the computer its in fist when the truck is actually in 4th

I read his post as it had been scanned but couldn't read exact codes.
i think you need to get your hands on a manual.

its in the wiring manual and the wiring is in the plug for the ecu
i have never actually done a conversion using a 79 series td box always just 80 series gearboxes and these do not have the switch fitted.
it will have a few switches on it the reverse switch ,first gear switch and on the transfer the 4x4 switch and speed sensor
