Second Wiper switch

I am trying to wire up a second wiper switch and its got me beat.

This is for the navi to operate and I want it to run in flat out mode.

I can get it to work but it is not steady, the wipers go fast, stop, fast, stop, fast, stop etc. Pulled the thingie apart and can bridge it to make it work and self park but like i say, its not steady.

The current factory (pajero) switch is off, int, on, fast.

Any ideas?

I don't know how these things normally work, but I suspect you've managed to trigger the intermittent mode, on its fastest speed?

The factory switch may work in a 'progressive' way, so it may not be just a matter of bridging 2 contacts to overide, but a combination.
I would suggest to take a multimeter readout of all the contacts of the switch in each position. You could then decode the combination.
OR it may send a signal to the body control module to operate the wipers, and then you'd need an inigma code breaker, a supercomputer and a navaho indian! :finger:
Have you thought of applying power directly to the wiper motor? maybe use a chunky resistor in line? Pull the leads off the wiper motor, set the wiper control as desired, then take readings of voltage, resistance, THEN replicate that input! Simple

Yea Scott I haven't got the intermittent mode as it goes flat out and only stops for 1/2 a second!

The factory switch does need more than just bridging like you say, I get power to all 4 main wires (excl earth) when the wiper is on.

When Key is on

Wiper motor has 1 full time power and 3 nil
Wipers on slow speed, 1 has 8 volt, 2 have 12 and one also has 12 but it flicks on and off and slightly delayed getting its power (by about 1/2 second)
Wiper on full speed, same as above but instead of 8 volt it now has 16.
