Outer Limits 4x4 Board

After 6 months my full reco starter motor has rusted out. Rear half was still fine but front half all rusted n needed new bearings, was still spinning just not engaging. All joins were siliconed up also. Any ideas where the water is comin from so easily.....

its normal, ive done about 5 in 5 years. If ya play in mud and or water it comes in past the bell housing or clutch fork. hte starter also has a breather hole on its case which can let in water
