if my searching ability has failed me feel free to give me a flaming but i had no luck

G'day all i was previously a suzuki owner but have sold her and am currently looking for a gq wagon that i want to fit a 6L 'L98' to.

But my question is i keep finding nice cheap suitable wagons but they are always auto so i would like to know what is involved from going auto to manual. Now im only talking about 4.2 running gear.

I plan on running the electronic throttle 'fly by wire' when i do the engine conversion anyway so will need to play with the peddle box. Any input would be muchly appreaciated

Cheers Lindsay

when i did it to my last gq i had a wrecked gq to take everything out of.

the clutch pedal box is a seperate box to the brake pedal box and same as the accerlerator pedal. the clutch pedal box bolts straight in after you remove the cover in the fire wall you can fit the master cylinder and i used the clutch line out of the wreck as well. the gearbox uses the same tailshafts and tranfer case. the plate on the trans tunnel for the auto is different to the manual but that unbolts aswell.

other then that there is the nuetral start switch that when the wiring has been unplug wont let the motor start there is and electrical plug up in behind the battery that i looped and away it went.

easy to do but time consuming. took most of the day to do.
