Just wondering if any of you guys are running hi-flow air filters and which brands you think are the best. I was looking at a K&N filter(I run one in my Falcon and am quite pleased with it) but got quoted some stupidly high price for a suzuki. Suzi sport sell uni filters for my sierra for $55, do any of you use these, are they any good or are there better brands/types on the market??

Unifilters work great....had a rampod on my Feroza. Only down side is ya gotta clean it RELIGOUSLY, coz the dust WILL get through if ya don't!

Consider a pre-filter if you're gunna run one, especially in dusty conditions.

I just run a $20 autobarn special through the firewall.

Doesn't really do much for power, the engine does rev more freely, its certainly louder though.

I import American pick ups and have been doing for a number of years. We have trailled many types of filters and have found the pick of the bunch to be the K&N.

In dusty conditions it does pay to use a pre filter. Otherwise you will be cleaning it after every trip.

The power increase is minimal, however they do filter the air more efficiently. If you combine the K&N filter with a Hiclone you will gain a little more power through better air flow and fuel atomization.

www.hicloneqld.com.au (they also have an easy to use fuel economy calculator and 30 money back guarantee.

and if you mate your hi-clone with a molecular fuel alligner and a polariser off a VL group A you should almost be able to drive along and use no fuel at all!

and drain the sump and fill it with snake oil, would double your HP!
and a 30 day money back. . . . . . ;)

Just stick any decent filter in it. Youll probably find that the biggest flow restriction is in the airbox itself anyway.
Only way to be sure is to test it.
I used to run a finer filter in my original airbox feeding the 4A-GE. I had a complete new induction made up with pod filter and it made quite a noticable difference. The original airbox was just choking the airflow into the engine.

thats not a stupid comment, because it can be very dangerous, not only backfires, etc, but fumes into cab (obviously not a problem with no roof or doors, tho) christover
