OL team... advice needed.

I got my crafty little hands on a new VDO gauge the other day, and since I don't totally trust my current temp gauge I thought I'd rip a 2" hole in my dash and bang it in. It's gone in my 1978 BJ40 Landcruiser with a "B" Diesel.

I've got it in there, all wired up to the existing temp sender (on the thermostat), earth and power... The gauge just does this funny little wiggle / pivot thing, and isn't really working accurately. Can anyone tell me if there is something more than needs to be wired up to make it work better? A bloke at work suggested adding a resistor or something like that...

Yea mate, i think you will find you will need the VDO temp Sensor aswell, as they will have a different resistance to the OME Toyota Sender, Ash
