just a quick question, what fuel pumps are people using in a lux with a commodore v6? something like a vl external pump( and where is it mounted, do you have any drain back problems) or a in tank pump?

Most people run an aftermarket pump bosch 044 or to the likes with a surge tank, Me however will be using a VN flat tank between the rails and run the standard internal pump

ive got a 304 motor.
but i jagged it that a 100 series sub tank has a hole perfect to fit a standard commodore 5litre efi fuel pump.
maybe the V6 will be similar?
combined cost of both about $30?

Either the Bocsh 044 pump or VL external pump will work, i run both one into the serge tank then the VL from the serge tank to engine and have the return feul plumbed back to the serge tank to ensure it never runs dry.

The Hilux/4 Runner V6 pump will feed a 304 so of course will feed a V6.
If it's a hilux petrol then the tank should be the same, so dropping an in tank V6 pump through the large openeing in top of the tank should be a cinch. Only other thing you need is a return line from the fuel rail to the tank and make sure your fuel lines and filter are up to the pressure of the EFI pump.
With an EFI pump and correct fuel lines there will be no need for a surge tank either.
I have a Bosch 044 but stuck with the V6 unit because the 044 makes too much noise for no real gain.
Cheers

You can fit a walbro pump in a standard hilux tank, extremely tight fit but you can make them work.
