60 series 12HT exhaust upgrade?

G'day, I would like to find out what size people think is appropriate for a new 60 series exhaust upgrade. In the next few months, I am looking at restoring my old, stock standard 60. Apart from replacing the tyres, suspension and giving it a new paint job, i'd like it to breathe easier too. Do I go for 2.5" or 3"? I'm hoping to upgrade the fuel pump and increase the boost slightly too. What set-up do you guys have? Does it work well? Please let me know. Thanks, Sam

3 inch is the go but the biggest gain can be found in improvements to the turbo dump pipe flow. The stock unit is ok but look for aftermarket options. I have a Beaudesert Exhaust dump pipe - ring them, they may post one to you..... I think they come with a fitting for a pyro too.
With the bigger system, there is a loss of low down torque but the benefits of the bigger system in the operating rev range are impressive. Don't get too hung up on mandrel or standard bending as there aren't too many bends required for a 60 anyway. Go for thick wall pipe though. A small resonator (hot dog style) is the only muffler you'll need (as the turbo acts as a muffler) and don't forget a flex pipe near the motor.
cheers,
Dunc.
