Hi All from Canada,

I'm currently swaping a 1HD-FTE LHD from France into a US UZJ100 (V8). I've read many threads about BEB issue on earlier 1HD engine, are the BEB ever been a issue on the 1HD-FTE or was it fixed by then?.

Since the frame is out form under the truck and the engine is now sitting on a rolling frame, i will chanfgfe the t-belt and injector pipes...yes. injector pipes, the t-belt cover say that you need to change t-belt and injector pipes every 150000km. Any thinge else you would recommand?

Thanks

Eric

BEB's not a problem in the FTE motor, was fixed a loooong time before these were released. Injector lines and timing belt are must do's @ 150,000km , but if you are doing these i would also consider the injectors themselves, especially if you dont know the history of the donor vehicle. Only other thing would be the tappets

I read up about the injector pipes, seems Toyota was being over cautious when they designed the motor. Most people leave them and I haven't heard of any failures, they are around $800 for the pipes alone if I recall correctly!! Timing belt you definitely must do, but is an easy job on these.
