My old mans F250 is coming up on 30k km and will be doing a full service on it.

what he needs to know is the 'best' heavy duty Auto fluid for the truck. Its an 05 with the 7.3L powerstroke with column shift auto. The Truck doesnt get used very often, but when it does it usually has a load on it. We've heard of trucks blowing boxes up too due to high heat and the way they shift gears. To combat this we have chipped the box but Dad wants total insurance.

Thanks Sam

They are all very much the same. Just make sure it's the right type. If you want insurance, fit a second, better trans cooler. If it runs a combined engine/trans radiator look at upgrading that too, and space permitting running seperate radiators for both fluids. Also watch your tyre size. If possible run a smaller diameter tyre to lower the gearing and take some load off the driveline.
