2.4D radiator in a 2.8D Hilux

Quick question about radiators for my ln106 hilux. I have the factory 2.8 radiator that is leaking slightly from what looks to be a previous repair on teh top end tank.
I managed to get hold of a radiator from a 2.4 Turbo when I bought the Turbo kit from a guy wrecking an older (early 80's) Hilux.
The radiators look virtually identical except that on the 2.4 the inlet/outlet on the bottom tank is on the same side as the inlet/outlet on the top whereas on the 2.8 they are on opposite ends.
If I can get hoses to connect them up will these two radiators be interchangable or is the position of the inlet/outlet important for cooling purposes?
I can take a photo if what I'm saying isn't clear.

Unless it's a 2 pass rad (goes to 1 side in the top 1/2 and comes back in the lower 1/2 of the rad), ideally you want to make the water in the rad go completely from one corner to the other to cool it the best it can.

If it's a 3 or 4 core, fits and cools your engine properly, it's all good ;)
