G'day All.
I have tried the Search function, Only to come up with no results for what I was looking for. Feel free to post Links if you know of somthing though!
What I am looking at doing is..
I have a 1996 GQ patrol Coil cab, And I want to put a canvas canopy on it.
Prefferably with a hard top.
I was wondering if anyone on the forum has some photos of there canopies and frames and the mounting systems etc. Or any Advice/comments at all on the contstruction etc. Of a canopy and Frame.
Cheers
Jono

Do you want the canopy to go over the hard top or just cover the sides?

Mate i have a GQ 95 Coil Cab myself, and a solid canopy made from 40x40 RHS, it has a folded roof made from alloy checkerplate you could host a party up there, and the front and rear are cladded with some solid ally sheets too, its awkward to put on by myself but i was thinking of taking the alloy sheeting off, re engineering it to lighter RHS and selling the frame to someone interested.
It also has full side doors sitting there i havent hinged up yet so some mesh can be welded to that for security.
I will get down the yard and get some pics of it this arvo or tomorrow mate.
It cost close to $1200 in materials to make without canvas sides.

i recently built a roof for my bro's cruiser ute, its 25x25mm rhs, used the existing 3" bent ladder bars and bolted it to this. 3mm alloy on top. he hasnt put sides on it yet but wont be hard, just needs sail rail all round and then the sides stitched up etc.
cost about $100 for the RHS, and $270 for the 2 sheets of 2400x1200 alloy.

Here it is as it sits today, the base frame has small triangles welded in the corners with holes drilled to bolt straight through the tray.
Inside looking towards the front
It has these slide in style canvas adaptor bits but they are garbage the way it was set up so i took the canvas off.
