G'day I have 35x11.5R15 Simex on 15x8 rims which work well, i'm looking at changing to 15x10 rims with external beadlocks, would these be to wide for the tyres or still work ok?

it will probably increase your chances of pulling off the inner bead. better off sticking with the 8" rims for that width tyre

General rule is rim width = approx 65-80% of tread width, less a half inch if accounting for any bead locks extra width (from using outside of rim rather than inside). For 11.5" tread width 7.5-9" would be your range of normal rim width, or use 7-8.5" + the width of the weld on/bolt on rings of the beadlocks.

I had my 38.5x11.5 booger on 10in rims i was continually popping beads innner or outer... i went back to the 8in rim with external beadlocks and never had an issue after that... you will also bend your rim alot more too as there is no tyre to fold around the rocks etc...
