hi,

need to get my gu going and the lest few things left is turbo and intercooler. its a td42.

probs going to go with the gt2871 bb turbo and i've got a 450x300x100 intercooler from my last car that i was going to try and top mount as it wont fit on the front because of my winch.

has anybody got a cooler that big as a top mount? and maybe some pics please of how big yours is and how you mounted it?

hopefully the top mount is only going to be on there till i have the money to get a w2a intercooler. unless it is efficent enough.

thanks, lozz

Check out my thread, Whats this worth GQ TB42 Turbo.
Its got a pic of my top mount, I think mines a 500x300x76 with 2.5inch inlet and outlet.
fits under the bonnet of my gq, I would imagine the gu would have similar clearance.
Any thincker than 76 and i reckon I would have run into clearance issues with out body lift.
the breathers on the rocker cover were what prevented me from lowering mine.
Hope this helps

I ran a 600 x 300 x 76 with 3" inllets. PITA for working on my car, now have a different front bar and a front mount.

thanks for the replies,

i put the td42 motor and manual gearbox in yesterday and it looks like a have heaps of room to put a 450x300x100 cooler on. it would be awesome if i could get a slim thermo fan on between the engine and the cooler.

mate i fitted a 300x300x75mm core with a thermofan underneath it sucking through the cooler and its fits with plenty of room.
