wheel bearing grease

question...
I usually grease my front wheel bearings once every 2 years.... when i put the grease in, its the castrol HTB ... yellow in color. 2 years later when pulling the bearing to regrease, the grease has turned to a dark grey color ...is this normal the grease to change color?

I think so - probably gets contaminated with water and dirt. But I've been using the blue Valvoline bearing grease which seems to have better water resistance.

Yes and it will happen quickly. As long as you have enough in there then don't panic.

I'd probablly change grease I ran castrol for a few years and had 2 failures partially due to water however since changing to a grease made by pro ma the current set have been in for 2 and a half years pulled them out about a month back just to check them all still ok and hasnt changed colour or blended with water.

use the red inox stuff.. It's a very high temp grease and water rest to.
The grey colour your got now is the diff oil getting in mine is the same to.
