I run 35's all the time and my speedo is out by 7km/h by the gps (i sit on 93km/h to actually do 100km/h) Not a big deal..
My question is, how do i relate it to the odometer to find out my actual litres/100km.
so in my GU td42 i have got, by the odometer 1200km to both tanks (185l) on the 35's. How many actual kays is that and how many l/100km?
Cheers,

If it is an electronic speedo there's a kit from Jaycar that will correct your speedo (and odo).
The simple maths on what you have presented is a correction factor of 1.07 ie 100/93, multiply that by your indicated number of km traveled ie 1200 gives you 1284 km actually traveled.
This is 12.84 hundred km.
185 litres fuel used
185/12.84 = 14.4l/100km.
Noting that your best calibration method is at 100 km/h using a GPS to read off real speed, then use the above method to arrive at a more accurate figure

Or just buy one of those $95 on dash gps units. Will give speed, distance and some (primo software) have l/100k .

Put 4.6 diff gears in it it weill bring it back to near spot on... and be a shit load better to drive off road with 35's

I was thinking of transfer gears one day. I like the fact that i sit on around 2500rpm at 120ish 130km/h speed limits up here.

thats what i would be doing, its my plan at some stage too. you will just use more fuel with the 4.6 if you do alot of highway

Worst move ever!!!
On 35's I would only ever go to 4.3's.
Being a ute it comes with 4.1's to start with. I had 4.6s in my GU wagon and went to 4.3's and it is far nicer to drive..
4.6's put you out of the torque curve of the motor once on the freeway and it also revs too hard at a 100km/h in 5th.
If you going only run 35's leave the diffs alone and change transfer gears for better low range offroad.

To correct you speedo you can swap the speed sensor gear to get it right. I swapped mine and got it with 1km/h on 35s with 4.1s in my ute. Problem is i can't tell you what the sensor was out of. Might have been a zd30 transfer

i was waiting for the 4.6/4.3 arguement to come up. i would go the 4.3's, if at all.
I think the 14.4l /100 is pretty acceptable at the moment. what are others getting on 35's?
