does anyone know what would be the best and cheapest way to put new tyres on my toyota prado 120 series, its is completely standard except for it has a 2/12 inch lift, i would like a set of 285's but my offset is to narrow, any sugestions?

285's will scrub pretty bad on the front under turning without decent modification of wheel arches and playing with rim offset, you would be better off with some 265x75's. We have a 50mm king spring/bilstein lift in our 95 series and run 265 MTZ's with no scrubbing what so ever.

oh ok, i have consulted trye places and they all recomend buying new rims because i currently have 265/65/17, and there is no range of good off road tyres made the size and being a 120 series i can only fit 17 inch rims on there

Yer that can be a challenge, U can however get mickey T's in a 265X70R17 (32x10.5") in either MTZ, FC-II's and ATZ (4 and 5 rib)
Im sure coopers, maxxis etc would do similar sizes.
32" aint a bad tyre size for a prado and will will work well, Of course 33's will look sweet but they will do carnage on ur guards and fuel economy without further modifications.

it is all good now, been to a tyre place and they have a set of cooper st's that are 245/70/17r, which is the same as 265/65/17r, so they are 31 inch, so all should be well, thanks for your input.
