I've been searching around and cant find anything on this.

I have to attach/manufacture some kind of recovery point for the front of my 75 series ute. Just want to see pics of what others have done. I am not running a bull bar, only a factory chrome bumper.

I can't really help you coz I've got a bullbar, but you can help me.

What does it say on the grill and where'd you get the grill/indicators? I'm looking at going the 79 series look too.

Mate has eye bolt type recovery points on the front of his bullbar. I'm pretty sure they screw through the bar, into a thick plate, then a lock nut behind that. Not sure where you get em, can't even find a picture of em coz I want some too.

The badge on the grill says Chevrolet, and the grill/indicators are just from eBay, they are listed on there all the time pretty much. Should be around 170-180 for both the grill and indicators. The grill won't include a badge and it is a bit of a funny size from my experience trying to source one. I ended up finding a set of Coaster badges that had the correct size on the front. It obviously doesn't come with the Chev badge either.

I ended up just making up a 16mm plate with 3 12mm High Tensile bolts through existing holes in the chassis. Will just use a bow shackle off a hole in it.

Two choices I've seen for 70 series front recovery points.

A) Opposite lock Springwood and RFM at woolloongabba both have an identical plate setup in stock, red with two stacks of two washers tacked onto it. These pick up two holes in the front spring mount and one hole in the chassis rail proper. http://www.rfm4x4.com.au" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

B) I bought some from macquarie 4x4 (I think) via ebay but made by allterrain 4x4, which rather than stacks of washers, come with a selection of dogbone shaped plates to space the difference between the spring mounts and chassis rail. These picked up the same two bolts on the spring mount but two mounts (rather than one) on the chassis rail proper. You can see/buy them here.

I was pretty happy with the all terrain ones and could happily recommend them.

Regardless of which option you choose, I use and recommend an equaliser (aka bridle) strap to share the load between both recovery points. Such as the Just Straps™ Heavy Duty Equaliser Strap.

Hope this helps?

-Adam.

Thanks very much for the help. I will look into these, might be better than what I came up with.
