alloy rad modification

anyone turned their rads around back to front and modified it.?

I have a 3 core triple flow aussie desert cooler for a td42 here and have just fitted a chev which uses a tb42 petty rad. the inlets, outlets and fillers are opposite diesel to petrol. if i reverse the rad it should be the same ( not upside down but front to back) I will just need to cut inlet/outlet and mounts off and plate/ cut weld on the other side and it should flow the same.

anyone done this.? and will it affect the flow being a triple flow radiator?

Would it not be easier to just get the TB42 rad tanks fitted to the core ???

probably. but a good mate can cut and weld today for a bottle of jimmy beams finest. i would have to get the tanks from aussie desert coolers and that would be a few days/weeks this time of year as it is a thicker rad to the factory ones. the rad is all ally and looks like its a standard tank that they just cut the holes and weld the necks on. the filler is centred on the top so it spins either way.

Either way youll have to drill new holes in the rad tanks, and move the hose necks
Leave the flow of the rad how it is,just move the necks to suit, then plug up the old holes

Yes we had to do the same thing at work when we did a 6.2 diesel Chevy in a gq the only problem we have is keeping the Chevy cool they are chronic for heating issues we have just changed thermos and had to fit a bleed screw in it. Fan flow is the key
