Just finised the coil conversion on the front of the old Surf tonight, shes now fully coiled. Next step I think is to mount some shocks. What shocks do you think I should use? I need quite abit of travel.

Rancho 9000's are available with up to 15" of shaft travel I think, and the 12, 13-14 and 15" travel versions have "generic" valving which is quite acceptable for most applications - my very softly sprung G wagen (140lb/") runs 9012's (12" travel) on setting 1-2 ( they are the the old 5 speed types) and they have been very durable. too many sets of brackets in that sentence, but you get the drift.

There are some quite long explorer pro-comp shocks available that I believe have ok valving.

There is also the option of truck shocks. These are plenty long but I thought they would tend to be a bit stiff... I think the the Mog-Rover runs truck shocks??
