Fitting air-con to a 1HZ 75

Hello.

I have had enough of sweating like a pig in a filthy, dusty truck.
I usually wind the window down and buy an icecream but that didn't work in Cape York. I, and all my shit just ended up coated in a nice thick layer of red dust.

My truck doesn't have air-con and NEVER has. It's not that it doesn't work. It's just not there so I'm starting from scratch (I need everything). And I don't really know anything about air-con to be honest but have fairly good mechanical knowledge and am more than prepared to give it a go.

So what am I in for, what do i need, where do I start???

What bits can I get from a wrecker and what should I get new?
What new bits do I get genuine and what do I get aftermarket and who from?
What tips/advice can you offer?

Thankyou.

Thanks ice.

Sorry if I sound a bit n00bish, assuming the wiring is all there, I add the switch, what else is involved under the dash?

I would buy a complete new kit of a supplier with everything brand new that you need. You don't want to pay $1000 for stuff off a wreck and buy new hoses, reco the compressor etc when a new kit would be about the same price. We just put a complete new system in a 99 Patrol ute for $2150 drive in drive out.
