Hilux rear disc brake question

The hilux i have purchased has already been converted to disc brake rear, however they have used what seems to be front hilux calipers (S12+8) and rotors, hense no mechanical handbrake. It does have a hydraulic handbrake, but i want to get this thing roadworthy in QLD.

I have heard using subaru leone front calipers will work, is there any others with handbrake that might be easier to source that will work on these rotors? possible falcon?

Im not too worried about the capability of the handbrake, as long it will pass, as it is an auto with park and has the hydraulic.

Thanks for your help.

I bought a pair, really good build quality. I got my calipers from a Brumby as for the year I can't remember. I haven't fitted them yet

Thanks for the link chello, i probably should have mentioned this hilux has an FJ55 series rear axle (converted to disc already), so im not sure if that would fit the same.

Was hoping to see if anyone knows of a caliper with the handbrake mechanism that would work with the rotor already on there, which i believe is:

307 x 12.7

Can anyone tell me if it would be safe to put a Ford Falcon EA caliper on there, this caliper usually fits on a 287 x 15 rotor. Or is that too much of a diameter difference?

Hi,

try Hopper's Stoppers... I know they have a kit to mount a disk on the back of the transfer case for a 'cruiser..they might have the same set up for a Lux.

Cheers
