Hey there looking at upgrading from soft top sierra to jimny for comfort for my 1 Year old daughter[*]. The thing is ive got 31 muddies with extractors and 6.5 to 1 Transfer gears. Havnt looked into the technical side of things yet but just wanted to know if the transfer and extractors would be any use to the jimny as the reduction gears would have lucky to have done 300 km.
thanx

The extractors to the best of my knowledge are a no go ... the T/case can be made to fit .. but someone with more jinmy knowhow will need to help out .. from memory you need a small body lift, swap flanges and shorten the front driveshaft .. or was it lengthen the rear ... and you will need to sort out the Vehicle Speed Sensor .. (there are kits available to do that bit of it )

I belive you you just need the flanges and sierra case, jackshaft and mounts. Apparently Off Road Armoury and DG Tuning do a kit for the VSS.
Not sure though as Ive never done it, auszookers will have many more correct answers on this one.

Not owing a Jimny or really wanting to I have not paid it that much attention .. but the bodylift was only small (50mm or so) and would be pretty handy to help you clear the bigger rubber you would like to run with the lower gears, without haveing to limit your uptravel

You could also keep the transfer and swop the jimny out for a Sierra?

Upgrading to jimny is obviously going to cost a couple of grand on top of whatever you'll get for the sierra.
You've told us about some of your drivetrain, what suspension are you running at the moment? It isnt hard to get a sierra to ride ALOT better than stock, and with a couple of grand up your sleeve, the possibilities are nearly endless.
Just sayin, You will end up with a much more reliable machine if you stick with the sierra.. You can still have A/C, P/S, coils, whatever you want, i reckon it'll be cheaper in the end too.

I find you using the term retard as an insult very offensive. Is that considered appropriate in NZ? If i was going to insult dave, I would probably poke a bit of fun at his love of the c0ck and the fact that his "2 week diff swap" has taken over 6 months and counting.

They still making threads about dave over there?
NONONO I love pink seals between my legs, That love brings out the c0ck attraction :finger: or it may have been the case of piss talking :D

Be carefull DAD he may take off his velcro gloves and show you whos boss.

ZUKMEISTA fact is its not easy at all to build a great Jimny without spending big $$$$ to do so. The sierra transfer into the jimny has and can be done but why would you even start there? As your jimny is right now you are going to scrub 31s. The gearing your trying to get is over kill for 31s with a EFI engine. Unless you are looking at doing some major changes to your complete set up you would find it more usefull to spend your money on other parts of the jimny.

To put the SIerra transfer in to the Jimny you are looking at around $1000 to do it right without gears. Add $650+ for them. By the time you add all that up you may as well spent that on getting a Sierra that stock could out drive just about any Jimny you put it next to
.
Quiet simply I could care less as to what they say or j@ck0ff to about me on AZ. If your so into them why did you come over hereasking the question? They are the Zuki gods go back there.

Retard??? Grow up.

I wasn't far off on my guess 480 pounds before shipping for the basic kit 780 pounds for the full kit
