Anyone out there got any ideas for wedging a inj commo donk into a type 1 sierra? hoping to keep the slotted grille and orig box, rest is negotiable.
Currently on soa with 33 muddies, no test run yet as 1ltr donk fingered.

Ive seen the otis buildup and two problems,
1. waaaay out of my price range
2. dont have a t700 and huilux axles lyin round

also the road regs are different in W.A. no chance of getting lic with axles hanging out like that. Just trying to build a sleeper that can jump cruisers and tow busted nissans.

In WA... goog luck. A mate had troubles trying to register a v6 commo motor and box into a 94 pathfinder. It could have been the nissan badge but who knows.

Good luck, just chuck it in there and worry about it when the cops ask you.

I think the main reason the hilux diffs and t700 gearbox was used was to handle the increased power. I would say forget about getting it registered in WA and look at other engin swaps. Try keep it to a four and you might have a chance. Anyway whats wrong with a stock 1.3? if you want to pull pootrols out use low range! and if that doesn't work buy tcase reduction gears.

To get it registerd you will need a lot of work for any engineer to accept a V6. Chassis strength, braking ability, diff strength etc. That was the main reason that Otis has Hilux running gear. You will be better off going for a Vitara 1.6.

As to jumping cruisers and towing broken nissans umm right. :?
i have pulled out quite a few Cruisers and hiluxes with my Zuk on a 1.3 engine.

A Commodore V6 is a big heavy engine that will be more of a hassle than anything else in a Zuk. Stick to a light weight engine and combie it with gearing to move your 33s

you could get real tricky and drop in a nissan vg20 v6 and its only 2000cc actually its a tad under 2000cc but anyhow might be your next bet

Thats a neat install :P

what gearbox is it running?

How much power does that motor have, and where in the rev range in max power?

Would be revvy, as would the 2.0 V6 nissan motor.

Im in wa and lookin at puttin 35's on and hilux diffs in, i figure if they dont like the diffs sticking out ill shortn them and reverse the centres of my rims to give me the width. Im keepn the 1.3 shouldnt need any bigger with right gearing and with suspension set right should do swerve test no prob. last resort ill go 33's to pass pits then just change them.

Wahot the ha

So you are going to 35's but on toy axles which are too wide so you are shortening them but may have to run 33's

Why not just bolt 33's on?? I reckon it'd be easier.
