Hey everyone. Just got my first car. It's a 96 cruiser ute with the stock 1hz engine. It's got a custom tray on it, upgraded suspention, stock bullbar, roo lights and bucket seats.
I would like to turn it into a tuff ute but don't have alot of income been an apprentice. Does anyone have any ideas on what i can do to my ute but keeping it rather budgeted?
Also SOA is that legal or not. i read in some places it is but then see cars with the conversition on the road???

Have a look see through the members section, theres a few 80utes here.
There should be enough in the members section to get your imagination going.

probly start with extension shackels, not very expensive and not hard to do urself which will keep the price down. if u have sum skills and a oxy/welder and a few other tools make sum rock sliders, scrub bars, rear bars etc will make it look good ans save heaps of $$$, then work ur way up to the more expensive gear. wot sort of set up u wanting to have?

Get some time behind the wheel - you'll soon work out any shortfalls. Maybe start with a decent set of 33-35" tyres and a winch (look 2nd hand or at the tigerz11 range for value for money).

Best thing you could do also is a shackle reversal. Have to get 2 longer main leaves. A castor wedge. Lengthen drive shaft and custom shackles and mounts. Sounds alot but the ride is unreal!!!!
