I may be imagining it, but im sure i have started hearing a whirring noise from the motor, especially when cold.
i took off the PS and AC belts and its still there
i also just noticed that the oil pressure light doesnt light up when the ignition is on either (i have had the vehicle for nearly 12 months, and not sure if it ever came on to tell u the truth.. but i thought it was worth mentioning)
im sure it started this noise after having a run thru some water on the highway (not deep - 10-20cms and between 10-40kph)
where else can i look for this whirring noise (you hear it mainly when revving)
how can i troubleshoot the lack oil pressure light..

well the water pump has some play, but decided to go the whole hog.. will replace the water pump (bearing if possible) put a timing kit in, replace the front seal (its got a slow weap)..
then worry about other bits.. its got 360k on it so who knows when the last time the timing belt was done..
