/useless dribble mode on, to attempt to save someone from making a mistake/
(Aka Quick review of cheap Chinese GU CV's)

About five years ago I bought two $75.00 jobbies from Hobzee. At the time he was advertising them as "best cheap CV's Ive ever seen. Ive personally put 600 hp through them...". So it got me suckered in. I reckon his 600hp GU probably sat in the shed now. Granted that some Chinese CV's are probably better than others...
These CV's sat on the shelf, until I changed one out 12 months ago. Factory CV was still in good nick. In went a chinese CV. Have a front locker, which is used a bit here and there, but Im one of these blokes who never goes over about 3000rpm even in those quick show off/momentum needed moments. And to be honest, I've hardly done anything 'serious' since it has been in. She let go on the 28th/Dec.

So... for the current listed $48.00 GU CV's on ebay, I'd personally stay away from chinese rubbish altogether. Not even worth the hassle of buying one as a 'spare' spare. Buy a $150.00 made-in-japan ebay CV if ya still want a cheapie spare.

I give them a rating of :x out of

I too purchased 2 of Hozee's "best cheap chinese cv's" as spares. At that time they were $55.00 each. They sat in the shed for about a year.
Eventually I broke a genuine unit.

I replaced it with the chinese unit. It lasted 40 minutes total driving time of which about 20 minutes was in 4wd low.

I have a front locker but it was never engaged.

I have no ill will towards anyone. It is just a classic case of you get what you pay for.

The second cv is now used as a door stop.

Cheers,

Micko
