v8 hj47

Post by rogan »

Hey everyone,

I have found a 4be that am considering buying. It is a 1983 toyota hj47, 289 mustang motor with a 5speed. have not had a look yet but am wondering what others think of the matchup of the motor and box. it is still licenced as a diesal so dont know what i would need to do to make it legal. It also has dual tanks, front LSD detroit locker rear, S/S snorkle, rock sliders, winch and is supposably rust free. 8K

Any advice would help
Im here for the sausage!

thats about double what i would want to pay for it if it was all legal.
check for rust.
i dont know where the dizzy etc is on a 289 but id suggest you check it isnt low and at the front.

i personally wouldnt touch it, add in engieneering? brake upgrades? anything else and your up for big $$.

if it was legal, neat and had a 350chev in it then maybe 8k.
