Dash board shorting

Hi guys, I own a gu 4.8 patrol. recently the dash board fuse has been shorting. It usually shorts when in reverse. I have to keep changing the 10amp fuse and it still keeps shorting. My car has also been jolting while accelerating when the dash is blank.
I took it to an auto electrician and he couldnt find anything wrong with it.
Has this happened to anyone or does anyone know what I can do to fix it?
Thanks

If an autoelectician could not trace a short circuit, the find another autoelectrician. This should be fairly straightforward to see if you can "perform" the stunt in front of them. No autoelectrician could walk away and say that's OK.
This is one of those things where you need to see it to be able to offer any realistic suggestions to try, but given the fact that it only happens in reverse sounds like a loom issue (frayed wire to wire or to earth?).
The fact that you mention a stumble from the engine would indicate a big short dropping the supply to the ECU momentarily as well.

Unplug the reverse switch on the gearbox and see if it still does it, i have a feeling the reverse circuit may be on the same fuse. It could be something simple like a shorted reverse light bulb or damaged wiring on the gearbox from wheeling.
