I havebn't but I've spent alot of time in my Dingo Doza which is a very simple design. There's a write up in this months 4WD monthly, but i reckon if you could make a tent, and you prolly can otherwise you shouldn't jhave asked, all you need is 3 frames made outa small tube that fold up and a base that folds up , then join the tent to the base and mount it on a roof rack and you got one. It sounds easy and i reckon if you can make a tent it'd be simple to make it fold up as a roof tent with a wooden base. I don't have any good pics but I'm sur you can get a brocure from somewhere. The Dingo Doza in my opinion is one of the more simpler tents that worked ace for 4 months travelling round Oz and numerous high country trips.

I made a roof top tent bout 5 years ago. similar to the dingo doza, cost about $600 in materials including an old singer sewing machine($100).
only way to go, 2min to erect then jump into bed, all your bedding lives up top.heres a photo and ill try and find the construction photos if u like.

couple of construct photos. ply board is 12mm, support rods are 10mm stainless rod, hinge is 3mm stainless plate, webbing strap keeps everything in place. make the hoops slightly smaller than your boards so when you fold it up everything remains inside. The central pivot should be about the hight of your matress. Put it all together throw some 8oz canvas over the top and voile a roof top tent. Thats the short of the long, good luck.

Looks identical to my Dingo Doza. Great Job!
