What coolant do you use? I have been using BP coolant, Nulon, Tectaloy 60 and some genuine but would like to run one coolant across all vehicles. Just interested.

unless you are in an alpine area and vehicle is unshedded just use clean water and castrol corrosion inhibitor,

I used to live in winter in -6 C for 3 months, without fancy antifreeze and just threw a blanket over the bonnet night before going to town as no shedding available and had no problems, Give a little time to warm up and all ok,
Biggest problem was getting ice from windscreen and keeping off till up hill enough and air warmer.

Just plain corosion inhibitor and water. works fine for me

Just be careful using OEM coolant in vehicles they weren't designed for. Some coolants don't like certain metals, copper in particular, and will do more harm than good.

depends what your motor/radiator is? if its mostly alloy then the red is better which is glycol ( developed for wwII fighter planes ). if your an older steel engine with a copper/brass radiator than green is the go. i use holden coolant which is just gm stuff but its expensive at 45 bucks for 5 litres but is good for 5 years . either way the most important thing is use demineralised water in your system with your choice of coolant if its not a ready mix .

People that know me know I worked for Volkswagen for around 10 years. I also did a little time with Audi (but they are just over priced VWs) If anyone on here has any of the VW products (vw, skoda, audi, Lambo blahh blahh) If your using anything other then the factory G12 (Lambo calls it something else but its still G12)coolant you are doing damage to you coolant system.
For those of you that have or have had a VW you will know the coolant system is one of its MAJOR downfalls. This is because they were designed for a much cooler European climate. Anyway back to G12, there coolant systems have a lot of carbon/glass impregnated plastics for tubing, housings, heater cores, radiator, and water pump. The G12 has a cemical in it that keeps the structural integrity of the plastics. If the G12 is not mixed correctly (3 to 1 ratio) or it is constantly topped up with water it will brake the plastics down cause failures. In some cases mixing other products like Nulon or BP can cause the coolant to turn to a slime like consistency that will cause a hole lot of problems.

As for anything else I try to stick with Nulon products.

i run this http://www.liquidintelligence115.com.au/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, i dont run it for antifreez more for antiboil you find boiling your coolant does more damage then the temp alone.

I use the cheapest shit on the shelf at autobarn and top it up with water. have replaced it jsut the other day for the first time in 3 years. No signs on rust in the system.

if yor truck runs nice and at the right temp and the cooling system looks to be in check is there any difference between the cheaper stuff and the top line gear?
