manual pneumatic switch

so I've got a vacuum operated transfer case and so far had a hard time finding the bits to convert it to a manual sift. so im going to look at something similar to this: http://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagon ... iteup.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I know I can just find some solenoids off an old 60 but they are electric operated and i would rather not make it more complicated then it needs to be. All this is going into my bj42 with manual shift.

could anyone answer a few questions in regards to this:
1) does anyone knows of anything local in australia where i could source a 5 way pneumatic value. (not necessarily Norgren brand)
2) would I just T into the vacuum off the back of the alternator?
and
3) has anyone done this before and do you have any tips or things to look out for?

If i remember correctly, some merc's and falcons have vac switches on the dash for some aircon/heater functions. you may be able to snaffle a vac switch from one of these. good luck

I use an air toggle to operate my rear disconnect, got it from my local hydraulic joint for around $60.

Thanks for the tip 85lux, i'll have a think about which wreckers might have that.

Sloshy, talking to SMC their air operated switches don't work the same for vacuum.. and they don't do any vacuum operated switches.

They did put me onto Process Systems @ Hemmant for a switch, and quoted me about $130 ex GST.

thanks for all the suggestions guys but this is no longer needed. Ricko came through with a manual late model transfer so i can just swap over nosecones instead of having to find a vacuum switch.
