If a 4by fitted with 35's was fitted with different diff ratios to restore normal revs at 100 k's would the speedo still be out? The speedo comes from the gearbox so will the different gears affect that too? Please excuse my ignorance.

My bro in law uses a navman thing to get an accurate speed reading.
He runs 35s on his Hilux, 4.3 ratios in diffs.
He told me that on freeway, whilst speedo was reading 110kms, navman was reading 100kms.

I dont know if this helps, but a navman thing would give an accurate reading, and then youll know for sure.

No.

If you get the gearing exactly right then speedo will be right also. I have 35's and 4.56 centres and my speedo is out 7 k's according to gps. So I think 4.8's would be closest. Easiest solution is gps or get speedo recalibrated.

Most speedos are out from factory anyway, don't assume that because you have corrected
Gearing or input pulse that your speedo is correct ;)
