Stainless snorkel

hey guys am planning on making a 4inch stainless steel snorkel for my 94 td42 gq, just wondering where u can get the black rubber bends/joiners at a reasonable price.

went to reece plumbing and the wanted $90 for 1 90 degree bend and couldnt offer 45 degree bends.

Look up your nearest Purple Pig outlet, they do various forms of rubber including straights, elbows and bends in varying degrees. Or try peninsula truck parts in Mooroduc

thanks for the help guys i'll give a those places a ring and get some prices, i'll put a thread of the snorkel build in the next few weeks when i get around to it if anyone is interested.

just another quick question what r people using for going from the round of the snorkel to the square of the intake pipe to the ait box i'm thinking about cutting the square of and tig welding a 3 inch 45 degree bend in there and using a reducer to meet the 4inch up to it? what r ur guys thoughts on that creating abit of an airdam there so if and for what ever reason it will always have a full supply of air??

If your making a 4" snorkle I would cut off the inlet on your air box and weld a 4" inlet on it. If your going to the effort of cutting and welding why use a reducer??
I had a custom airbox made on my old GQ with 4" inlet and 3" outlet at opposite ends. Only downsized because the pod filter I used and turbo inlet was 3".
I figure the more air the better. It's only going to benefit.

yer definately agree mate on the more air the better but i was thinking that 3inch inlet to the manifold would still be supplying more then enough air and that y the engine can take it as it needs it???

could be way of par... let me know if i am?

a mate of mine purchased a couple of 3in silocone "doughnuts" when he was doing his.... god knows where he got them from but their pretty ideal u can cut it up to whatever angle you need
