i have been searching but can't find anything on how much work needs to be done to fit 31's maybe 32';s on a vit. FOr 32's, (with 2" suspension) will there need to be 3" body? if so, how much more work is a 3" BL comapred to a 2" BL?
maybe refer me to some previous posts if you can find any?

Just had to cut the plastic bits to make things fit. To fit bigger would need some pannel work.

Add a 2" bodylift to your 2" suspension and you'll fit 31's and with a bit of trimming 32's. A 3" bodylift is more involved with extensions required to the steering shaft , transmission/t-case shifters, fuel filler hose & brake lines. Also you may want to check the legality as it's not to hard to get a 2" approved but they tend to shy away from 3".

Just wondering as I never had to extend mine at all and have had no steering problems with it.
How's those bling bling blue bits under yours, got it in there yet ?

Depends, some manage to get away without extending it but there are two different styles of shafts. My 2" lift used all the available adjustment, would've needed extending for a 3".
No blue bits under me yet.

Yes FACT dont risk it, my brothers ratled loose because it was not extended, not enough contact area to hold, very lucky it just held on. I extended mine strait away.

You must be getting some pretty big rubbage on full articulation at the rear? I've got marks in the rear wheel wells with only 29s :shock: Have you done any mods to the steering bump stops?

I'd say 2" body and 2" suspension will clear depending on offset of tyres and actual diameter. I am on 35mm body lift and about 2" suspension lift for my 31"s but a little trimming involved mainly due to rim offset.

i've got 2in suspension, 2in body and run 32s on bigass offset rims and i'm had to do a fair bit of cutting, and belting the firewall to get enough clearance to turn, and they still rub

I've increased the rear bumpstop so as the inside of the tyre doesn't rub on the innerguard. Cut all the flares away that could rub. The 4 door rim offsets aren't the same as the 2 door I think.

Finishing off my Calmini lift today :D

Sounds sweet - and I think you may be right with the offset - 16" GV rims look to have a little more than the 15s... :x

3 inch suspension, 3 inch body lift, 30's on 16's. No rubbing on panels( just chassis rail at full lock) no cutting of the body. Standard car for comparison also on 16 inch rims.

6inch lift is a bit excessive for 30's....mine fitted with a 1 inch bodylift, and 2inch suspension lift.............unless your talking about the new shape vitaras liam? :? :)

It's a GV, so to go any bigger than a 30 regardless of lift youd have to cut the verticle parts of the guards.

My GV has 2" springs and 1" body. 255/70r16 (30.8" i think) only rubs on the chassis at full lock in the front. No long bumpstops or pulling the car apart! :armsup:

2" body lift is fairly simple, 3" lift needs steering spacer, gear stick extensions etc.

Personally go the 2" and do a little trimming.

Liam, been trying to get more info on the bodylift for the GV. What do you do for the steering shaft? What are the bodylift blocks made from? Is the kit ready to go for the V6's?
