GQ Front Recovery Points

I have an ARB bar and the factory recovery points seem to be nonexistent. The bar has holes to mount recover hooks but I'd prefer to mount them on the chassis. What have others done?

mounted them on the bar..
on the right side of center, there should be a big ass black hook under the front end, I've used that dozens of times without issue.

I just had another look and feel inadequate. I don't have a 'big ass black hook'

It should look like a tie down point for shipping. its around 1in round bar, and 6-12in long, with a flat plate on the end to stop your snatch coming off.
You should be able to get 1 from wrecker.
Also go the hooks on the bar, $20pr, and USE PROPER HIGH TENSILE BOLTS .. do it right

Mine's not black, by the way, it's white, but I have the same item. It is bolted to the inside of the driver's side chassis rail at the very front.
I also have one on my bullbar, the standard ones you get from repco and everywhere else.
I would just put one on the bullbar if there are mount points already. It's a good spot for them, better than under the car really since it's easier to get to - I like to be able to put the snatch strap on without getting my tuxedo or white gloves dirty.

I agree with the ones on the bar, but go the pair...
Easier to get to, specially if your stuck up to your grill

and you can also use an "A" chain to center the pull.

Chassis mount OE hook is best for "snatch" recovery but bar hooks will work. "May" distort uprights if you are silly.
Get one from a wrecker.

can i just say, the recovery hooks evryone sells, rated at 10T, the oes you buy are ARB, repco, and the works, i have bent a few of those, they have failed before the snatch strap, always work off 2 of those hooks to share the load!

Ozy1 I agree, I have straightened out and broken the AM hook type recovery points also that is why I only use and sell crane rated 5 to 1 eyes. I have sold over 600 of these eyes (same size and brand) and havnt broken or had one returned yet. Then again nothing is un-brakable.
