I have one in my GQ and the centre metal cap part gives an electric shock when touched and car is running. I am also having a lot of trouble with it not producing spark, and when it has started it isn't running very long and cuts out.
Went and saw local spare parts place and they have never sold one so that tells me these things don't play up too often.
Anyone else had this problem? Where do you guys have them mounted in your GQ's

Yes they fail all the time, It's very common. You need to try mount it as far away from heat as possible. I'm on my second one, you can buy remanufactured/rebuilt ones.
If you can't find them I'll try dig up the receipt and see where I bought it.

mmm thanks, great idea i will ask some performance shops tomorrow. I've tried to buy another unit just to have a spare and wreckers don't want to sell them they are all exchange.
I've still got an old one here off my old 308 Electronic Dizzy but its a different type - typical if my luck.
