I'm running 4" lift with 33's on my wifes daily GU on the Gold Coast. If you keep it clean and it doesnt look like a beatin up shita you wont even get noticed.
We got passed straight thru the department of transport checks on the way home from cruiser park last mud bulls and music. Breath test, rego and lights check and off we went.
Man up and go the 4"

you hope it doesn't look to high for QLD, yet you hope it looks high enough lol.
3 inch is pretty ideal, less to modify, fits 35's better on road handling more stable off road. it will be good.
3 inch plus 33's looks kind of correct on a patrol, its effectively 4 inches above normal, in proportion I guess and as said if you keep it looking respectable you wont get a second glance.

DID you have to run the 5 degree caster bushes on the diff housing when you put the 2 inch lift in and after putting the 30mm spacers in ?

i think the 3" is going to be good and all i care about is not ending up in the pits and you have defanantly given me hope that 3" should be enough to keep me happy. can't wait to post pics and show you guys how it comes out.
all the things that have been booked in to get done next week that after only having the car for 4 days are as follows
narava 225 ultama spotties

on black sunnies
snorkel
boost guage
heavy duty clutch
rear reversing light
uhf
diff,gbox,transfer breathers
turbo timer?
dual batteries
rust converter
front locker
next 4wdaction mag
that should be all my savings spent then after a bit more saving
custom front and rear bars and a rear locker. please any one add any sugestions to my list.

Haha, my list of mods is almost identical to your wishlist (mine is petrol though) -narava 225 ultama spotties, custom silders, 2" suspension kit, 4" shocks, 30mm spacers, 33" ATs, black sunnies, snorkel, heavy duty clutch, new rear taillights, uhf, diff, gbox, transfer breathers, dual batteries, front locker haha plenty of scratches/dings too
I have not put 5° bushes in, the previous owner had a ARB 2" lift in it and had aftermarket bushes put in, not sure on on details though but whatever ARB would have used. I changed the springs/shocks for dobinson HD

Im about to shell out and get a 3" Dobinson lift, but im not sure if i have coil spacers in the rear, nor do i know much about coil setups as this is my first coil ute.
Its a 95 GQ Coil Cab.
Here is a pic of my rear right coil tower, is that a spacer or is that how it is standard?

I hate it when tyre joints expect you to be as clueless as the rest of their customers about tyres and tyre fitting. i do everything myself now except the balancing.
If you asked for 8in rims you shoulda got them. with a 33/12.5/r15 on a 15x8 track 2 (landcruiser offset) it may be close to showing a bit of tyre out of the guards... very boarderline tho.

I just fitted 3 inch front and 4 inch rear efs in a new patrol wagon. Went 4 inch rear to compensate for weight of boxes roof rack and rooftop camper etc. Truck is plenty high in my opinion. Any higher with out 35s would be a waste.

Sorry in nt working for another week. Was very much a massey fergusen origianlly now Sits prob 1/2 inch ish higher in rear with bits on it so should sit sweet fully loaded. Just hoping winch does not pull front down to much but i dont think it will. Ride is good also. Vehicle Seems allot smoother in general than the old 2 inch OME on last bus majority of this being vehicle and part suspension. Not as smooth as original springs of course but not to far off i feel.

it was $2,278 including the snorkel
all the work was done at caloundra 4x4.
