QLD Engineers - Seating Changes

Hi All,

I know this is general tech and I'm talking about a Toyota, but it is more an engineering question.

I am about to start rebuilding my Middy shortly and one thing I have been stuck on finding is whether or not I can legally put Troopy Side Seats in the back of it. I'd like to do this legally and have it mod plated as well.

My Middy has no roof and has rollbars, not sure if that changes the outcome or not.

That's just a job for some one who does mod plates not an engineer as far as I know. What area you in?

Best to ask the engineer you want to approve it, as different engineers will have different views on things.

The seat mounts and seatbelt mounting will be the main concern, but if you have no roof and a non standard roll bar there could be issues there with occupant safety, such as knocking heads during braking/cornering.

Well yeah, Engineer - Mod Plater. Always been the same thing in my eyes.

I'd argue that with 'but a Troopcarrier has these exact same seats'... l0l

I'm hoping an 'approved person' will see this and tell me that they will mod plate it for me if I do it.

Yeah I saw a post from him a while back offering his mod plating services with an email address in it.
I emailed it but I didn't get a response...
