If anyone knows of one or sees one when visiting wreckers can you shoot me a pm, reading to start my extra cab build and have decided this is the best way to go.
If anyone has gone this way with a build I would appreciate any tips
Thanks
Johno

I could really do with some help here fellas. I am totally deaf but have been able to get my wife to ring a couple of wreckers. If anyone spots a full bubble back or early MQ with the flat back i'd appreciate a tip on it.
Anyone have an opinion which back panel would look best?
Thanks
John

Hey mate, don't stress that no one's helping,
I think it's got more to do with the fact that there are just so few around.
and the one's that are available are crap or attached to whole cabs that cost wayyyy to much.
I bought mine for $442 after months of looking but got quoted up to $2500 for a cab
smitty

Ive got onto two half bubbles for $250.00 both with rust, one at Halls in Melb one at S.W. Qld wreckers.
Have decided to just hang on and buy a ute, mates really to busy and i'm not well enough or good enough.
Anyone interested in a real good 97 GQ wagon, 4.2 EFI petro l/ gas with a bit of gear let me know. Can't be bothered stuffing around it owes me $6,300.00 i'd like to recover my cost if I can. Not short circuting the for sale system, just thought i'd mention it in passing

I can help ya a bit there,
The MQ back is a real good fit if you are gunna do a Xtra cab using the old rear doors, it will look kinda like this....hopefully not too much like this cause this is my comp car!
The only thing you have to watch is the 'vanes' in the roof of the MQ?GQ utes they only have 5 while all the GQ wagons have 6. It is a tad painful and means you have to stagger your cut on the roof to rid yourself of the MQ one's but it aint a hell of a hassle.
Here is another sort of overall pic for ya,
If ya can get a Sth Oz number then give 'Just Niss-maz' here a call, last time i checked they had a bubble back ute body out the back with a good ute back on it. Tell them Steve with the green GQ ute and Billy with Scrubber sent ya...should get a good price then.
Good luck bloke,
Steve.

i have heard that you can go through a panel beater shop and order a replacement back section for your "UTE" weather it be a bubble back or flat back not sure on the cost but just might be less than a 2nd had ute body
