Didn't this happen in a Corolla recently...?

Check the floor mat. If it's not that then the fiction maybe too tight in the pedal unit.

These are fly by wire now aren't they? No engine light or other warning lights on the dash?

they are fly by wire, which means if its not something stupid like sand or grit in the pedal box or the floor mat it could be a pretty fun ride soon.

Yeah. I'd be getting the accelerator position sensor checked out on a scanner asap if nothing else is found.

And for some peace of mind I would report the Problem to Toyota so if anything does happen they have it on record.

There has been a recall on this in the past already.
There has been a number of death's mainly in the USA caused by TPS sensors malfunctioning. I would be contacting the dealer asap so they can replace the sensor.

No link sorry. Just info we were hearing from the dealers at the time of the problems.
Number of Hilux's and 200s had this exact problem, and we were informed by one of the head tech's it was being recalled on certain models.
