hi all just doing an engine swap on my mav to a beautiful 4.2 n/a diesel from the petrol. just wondering is there much of a difference in the looms apart from the glow plugs and dizzy. would it just be easier to swap the whole engine looms or just wire the glow plug loom in.

cheers guys

i just did a swap over a few months ago.... spose it all depends on how you want it set up. i have just got a different button sparate to the ignition that i push to glow, easy as to do that, if your looking for an ignition glow, i suggest auto elec...

Ive just got a push to glow momentary switch as well after my conversion, about 8 seconds when cold and doesnt need anything when warm.
just remember they draw alot of current so you need a BIG solenoid, fuse and heavy gauge wires.

i just did this swap last week, and i just have a push button to glow my plugs, hold it on for 5 seconds and away she goes.

the swap was really easy, and for the record.... you dont have to run the diesel fuel lines along the fire wall, relocate the fuel filter to the drivers side of the engine bay and make some mounts off the intake flange

use petrol loom. really easy, strip all your wires out from coil except for a white with black stripe(use for fuel cutoff on injector pump) and the blue wire that turns into yellow with black stripe, workshop manual makes it easy, use a diesel glow relay, just wire it up to a push button, temp sensor is the same, just lenthen alternator wires to run to other side of engine bay, done 2 in the last few weeks with no dramas
