Hi people I have an 89 Hilux i wanna rebuild from the ground up what running gear should i put in it i want a new motor because the old one is stuffed and i want a disel engine what are your suggestions also what modifications should i put on it although i do want it to be street legal

What do you want from your Hilux?? What sort of driving/tracks are you going to be doing?? And how much money do you want to spend??
2inch suspension lift, 33inch mud tyres, would be a great start, if you want to go further, then add diff locks or reduction gears will do just fine, then youll possibly break something so add chromo CVs and axles, stronger diff gears, barwork, it goes on and on, and on.......

Id buy some 9inch extended shackles for the hectic flex though.

big tip,

work out what you want from the truck, try to build as standard as possible to get it back together and do mod's one by one as you have time / money,

it's pretty hard to stay motivated for a couple of years, when you are just looking at parts,
