hi there i recently bought a 4inch lift for my 80. and im looking at retaining the rear coil at the bottom remounting the bottom shock mount on the centre of diff housing. rather then sticking down 160mm. if i were to do that what would be the best way of welding it onto the housing. ie cleat, weld nut onto plate then weld plate onto housing..?? i will have to extend the bumpstops aswell wont i?

it depends on what tyre size you are runing as to how much you extend the bump stops. if you have room in the guards for the tyres you are running the best thing to do would be to extent the top shock mount upward enough so the shock doesnt bottom out. this may not be achieveable tho. just think, if you move your shock mount up 160 you then need to extend the bump stops by 160mm, plus how ever much longeer the shock is than the stock one, you only have 4 inch lift, so if you extend your bumps 160 mm you effectiveley have 60mm less up travel betwene the bumps than a stock car, then ad in the additional shock length.... you get it i am sure.
