Evening all,
Im after some info on the fuel economy of V6 and V8 converted hilux's (Commodore V6 or V8 Injected with auto TH700).
Im trying to decide weather to go the V6 or V8 and with the cost of fuel as it is its a tough choice. The luxie is a daily driver (carpenter towing a tool trailer) so i want to keep running costs reasonable. V8 would be nice but dont know if it is worth all the extra $$$$$$ in running costs and rego. I dont do any extreem off roading or comp work but I do want a well ballanced vehicle that can take me up the beach on the weekend. Anyway any info or feedback would be very helpfull.
Cheers
SASS
P.S. Dose the marks adaptor kit for fitting an Injected 5 leter and TH700 require any modifications to the drive sharfts

I have a V6 vn & my cousins V8 statesman has no more power than mine. the V6 I think is the best way to go & a hell of a lot cheaper. If you want a bit more power put a chip in the computer & they go even better.

Im only putting mine in now. I got it rebuilt by John White Racing and when I asked marty white how bad the fuel economy would be he said it would actually be better than the 3Y (2.0L) originally in the lux.

So did Marty try and convince you to fit a Windsor instead

I shoulda just bought the twin turbo 8 out of his mustang......sweeeeeeet. No actually he was quite interested at the time for me to take it in once it was done. He had alot of guys coming in in low luxes wanting a good power up for towing. Mind you that was like a year ago. He probably cant remember me now lol. Plus he was doing a 1UZ into a lowlux at the time.
