Mounting/bracing? Need to hold up to 42's and hydro steer.

id be keen for 2 sets, but as said above, what are you using for mounts? Really need more than just the 4 kingpin bolts

With the high steer, have you taken into consideration the panhard angles will now be messed up? you will have to lift your axle end panhard mount.

I'd be interested in one for a GQ. Also whats the go with having to have the pan-hard rod on the same angle as the drag-link?

If there's much difference in angle then you'll get bump steer. During travel the axle swings in an arc determined by the panhard. If it's a different arc to the drag link, it'll add it's own input into the direction the wheels point. Not to be confused with wheel shimmy or castor related feedback.

Thanks guys. I just want to get the front to flex better but it already binds out the tie rod on the pitman arm end as it is.

What was previously mentioned is correct!

You MUST lift your panhard to the same angle as the drag link otherwise your steering will kick and wander with every bump.....

how do you plan on high steering the tie rod?

yes part of the kit will be a bracket that locates over the origonal mount for location, then welded to the diff raising the new pick-up point.
Yom wrote:how do you plan on high steering the tie rod?
by removing the top kingpin brearing mounting plate as teh highstear will have that machined into it it will then drop down and locate ont he origonal tie rod pickup point and then the new point will be off this thus giving you 4" rased new mount.

yes this lifts both steering and panhard arms both 4"

sorry for the late reply guys .... hope this helps.
as for costing we have not worked out what sorta money thease will be worth just yet

cheers

I'd go for the Snake Racing one for sure. I don't like the idea of a 2 piece setup.

I think your design is quite good, although i would retest with a higher loading. EG: our 'std' hyd assist setup is capable of ~1.7-2t of force from the assist cylinder, then add in the power of the steering box.
