Water to air system on GU ute

Looking at putting a water to air inter cooler system on a GU TD42 ute.
I want the radiator for the intercooler under the tray though, the ute has the factory dual tank setup and a standard steel tray.
Has any seen / done something like this with the standard un lifted tray on?
Any idea what sorta radiator would be best? Would it matter mounting the radiator at only a slight angle instead of verticle? Would it affect the radiators ability to work being mounted on it's side?
Any tips or pictures would be awesome.
Thanks in advance.

As long as there is sufficient air flow throught the use of a fan, it wont effect its performance being mounted flat.
You should however have to run a header tank above the radiator to ensure proper filling is achieved through a vertically mounted tank.

another thing to watch out for is to put a stone guard under it so nothing flings up into ur rad

I just put the radiator horizontally just behind the rollbar, seems to work ok. Doesnt get the automatic airflow yet, but im working on a scoop, if just to make sure things falling out of trees dont damage the fins. I had a long think about under the tray, and as a cutout on the headboard like others ive seen, but the sticks and rocks for underneith mounting, and camping gear rolling around the back for headboard mounting generally dont agree. Just make sure its a decent size rad if its not getting any natural airflow, and has decent protection. Aluminium rads have rather fragile fins.

Sam could you post a pic of your setup, sounds like its the go. Just want to see how it sits and is mounted.
Thanks Michael

I was lucky having bracing for the roll-bars i suppose, though they do reduce the usability of the space in the tray.

Does that radiator have a divider in it to make it a proper twinpass?

I was told it does, but i'm no expert. Both end tanks appear to heat up during use, so something must be getting to the other end. Its just a standard plazmaman kit.
